Job Responsibilities

The Newborn and Well Child Screening Manager will be responsible for leadership and coordination of the Health Check Program and Newborn Metabolic Screening Program.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (overall tasks and expectations of the position):


  • Provides expert guidance, technical assistance, training, and mentorship to hospitals, providers, and public health staff to assure newborn metabolic screening is completed and reported as required.
  • Responsible for coordination of the Newborn Screening Advisory Council meetings, communication, and membership.
  • Works collaboratively with child health Epidemiologists to resolve provider newborn metabolic scrrening reporting issues.
  • Responsible for leadership and coordination of the Health Check wellness screening program.
  • Responsible for assuring ongoing coordination, training, and support for local public health nurses in the provision of Health Check for Medicaid and PeachCare enrolled children and adolescents.
  • Develops and implements ongoing annual site reviews in public health districts to assure Medicaid billing compliance for health check services.
  • Works collaboratively with Department of Community Health and Medicaid Care Management Organizations’ staff to assure timely communication and guidance for Health Check related changes.
  • Responsible for assuring compliance with state and federal requirements and guidelines through ongoing evaluation, oversight, and reporting.
  • Provides ongoing coordination and monitoring to assure timelines, reports, contract requirements are completed as required.
  • Provides support for grant applications and needs assessments as required.
  • Responsible for effective collaboration between division and DPH programs, public health districts, agencies, and partners.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND Five years of experience managing professional level staff
OR
Nine years of experience AND Five years of management experience at the level
equivalent to area of assignment
OR
Five years of experience at the lower level Sr Mgr, Business Ops (GSM011).
Note: Related professional experience may substitute for the minimum educational requirement on a year for year basis.
