We are seeking a Scientist for our chemical biology group. The scope of the Chemical Biology group includes the identification of reactive moieties that could be leveraged as DUBTACs and applying quantitative proteomics to fully understand the MOA of DUBTACs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute cell based screening experiments for proteomics analysis.
• Plan and execute MS-based experiments designed to understand the MOA of DUBTACs.
• Maintain MS instruments to ensure high performance, troubleshoot as required.
• Interface with pharmacology, protein sciences, and medicinal chemistry to ensure smooth platform function.
• Directly supervise one (or more) RAs. Provide scientific insights and mentorship to young scientists on the team.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related fields, with 2-8 years’ experience in proteomics mass spectrometry.
• General understanding of molecular biology, biochemical methods, and enzymology. Specific knowledge and experience in the field of protein homeostasis, especially the ubiquitination pathway a plus.
• Experience in planning executing cell-based experiments for compound screening.
• Strong understanding of mass spectrometry based proteomics. 1st hand experience with ThermoFisher high resolution instruments, including instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, as well as experience with relevant analysis software packages (e.g., Protein Discoverer, Skyline, etc.) a plus.
• Good understanding and experience with general chemoproteomics methods, including screening reactive moieties to determine on-target potency and selectivity.
• Good understanding of basic molecular biology and biochemical methods.
• Natural collaborator with strong communication skills and experience contributing to multidisciplinary teams, as well as the ability to be a self-starter and thrive in a multitasking environment.
