The Georgia World Congress Center Authority is currently seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. The multi-skilled trade technician shall be responsible for providing the highest quality of service to our clients and customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform facility maintenance repair of building structures including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry services.
- Maintain and repair electrical controls, wiring and lighting systems.
- Operate, maintain, perform and supervise work related to maintenance of plumbing installations, plumbing equipment, and plumbing services.
- Performance of general carpentry and other related tasks as required maintaining our facilities in the highest level of maintenance as achievable.
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate the BAS, inputting weekly HVAC schedules, and adjusting the HVAC and lighting system.
- Work out of a boom lift or platform lift to perform certain tasks.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using the appropriate testing devices.
- Monitor and secure the safe keeping of equipment and supplies.
- Make repairs to plumbing fixtures.
- Notify supervisor of equipment and facilities requiring repair or replacement
- Maintain accountability of work orders for daily tasks.
- Position requires an irregular work schedule, and the performance of work assignments, that may not be directly related to job specifications.
- Maintain a professional image which represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis upon providing to exhibitors and clients the highest level of customer service deemed possible.
- Participate in all Georgia World Congress Center and Engineering Department training programs as required, such as cart, forklift, boom, and platform lift training.
- Participate in periodic departmental meetings as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiative
- Ability to multi-task & work under pressure with limited resources
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Have a valid driver’s license from the State of Georgia. Prefer technical school training in electrical and or HVAC.
- Prefer a minimum of (2) years of electrical or HVAC or plumbing trade.
- Experience as an electrician/electrician helper, HVAC Tech/HVAC helper for a residential or commercial contractor with work experience in 480/277 volt, 208/120-volt systems
- Knowledge of DC circuitry would be beneficial to this position.
