Position: Referral Coordinator
Location: Plant city, FL
Duration: 06 - 12 months + Extendable
Shift – 8:00-5pm Monday through Friday

Job Description:

• Performs varied activities and basic to moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments.

• Typically works on semi-routine assignments.

Job Description:

• Gathers and communicates all relative information and preparation instructions to patient and referring providers.

• Decisions are typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments.

• Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations, activities, daily priorities, monitoring progress towards schedules/goals, and quality standards,.

• Has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation and works under minimal supervision /direction.

• Follows standard policies/practices that allow for minimal opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion.

Job Functions:

• Prepares and processes all referral paperwork.

• Gathers pertinent information from physicians, nurse practitioners and nursing staff to complete referrals.

• Researches health plan to identify preferred in-network providers and requirements for referral authorization; provides supporting documentation to health plan, as needed.

• Contacts various offices/facilities to obtain necessary appointments for completing referrals.

• Responds to patient inquiries regarding health plan referrals.
