The Operations Manufacturing Engineer 2 position is a challenging, exciting, and multifaceted position. As one of the core disciplines, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for installing, startup, and process qualification of new 3D-Graphene production and support equipment using the principles of IQ/OQ/PQ.

As part of the equipment startup the Manufacturing Engineer is required to redline documents, schematics, procedures, and associated documentation so future installations will benefit.

  • Strong documentation and communication skills are required.
  • During the production floor layout planning phase, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop Value Stream maps to assure maximum production output from the allocated space.
  • The candidate will have a proven track-record of leading technical projects, driving LEAN and 5-S initiatives.
  • The applicant will be asked to provide evidence of their ability to work hands-on on equipment and troubleshoot down to the component level both electrical and mechanical.
  • Will work collaboratively with the Equipment Engineering team to improve design and development of new reactors.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of SPC, DOE, DFx and Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Ability to train and certify operators and technicians: Train-the-Trainer
  • Train and mentor new hires and junior engineers.
  • Improve equipment uptime and Availability through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing (Value Stream) process improvement projects
  • Responsible for Technical presentations

  • Hands-On, Self-motivated, requiring minimum supervision
  • Attention to details, data driven decision maker

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate (start-up, run, and shutdown) and maintain (assemble/disassemble) existing mechanical equipment.
  • Process materials and occasional conduct process equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to identify and help develop equipment and process improvements.
  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations and utilize required safety equipment. Report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to the appropriate personnel. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5S and LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Perform quality inspection protocols to enable preparations of material against tight tolerances, high specifications
  • Monitoring tool's operation to ensure quality of product is maintained
  • Record equipment related issues and alert facility manager or a process engineer
  • Perform other duties as required or as requested by the manager

Required Qualifications

3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production-based environment.
5 years of experience working with MS tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications

Engineering background
MES systems experience
College degree


Physical requirements

This role will require long periods of standing in a laboratory environment.
The employee will be required to use his or her hands for lab instrument and equipment operation
Must pass a respirator fitment test.
Required chem-/bio-safety training upon hiring.
Ability to lift, push, and/or move objects up to 20 lbs.


Compensation:

The expected base salary range for this position is between $29-$36 an hour. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
