Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) Materials and Fuel Complex (MFC) is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as the MFC Operations, Maintenance and Infrastructure Division Director, reporting directly to the MFC Associate Laboratory Director (ALD).

Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our MFC facilities with every Friday off!

INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for the Department of Energy (DOE), providing nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure, and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels and materials from fuel design, development, and fabrication through post irradiation analysis.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide strategic direction of the MFC Maintenance program including maintaining compliance with Conduct of Maintenance principles for all maintenance activities across MFC. Provide MFC senior leadership interaction with union leadership and ensure engagement and collaboration.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the MFC Fabrication Enterprise which provides support services and innovative solutions for fabricated and machined components supporting scientific research and unique facility maintenance needs.
  • Provide leadership and operational direction for all Utilities & Infrastructure Support Facilities. Infrastructure support systems include fire water, service water, steam, condensate, sewer, electrical, roads/grounds systems, etc. for over 70 administrative, outbuildings, nuclear, and non-nuclear buildings.
  • Lead campus planning, including space utilization, system health/building health reporting, Integrated Priority List (IPL) funding requests, and strategic planning for long term infrastructure system upgrades.
  • Manage a $60M annual budget, completing projects on time, within scope and budget.
  • Lead all areas of human capital management, including attracting a diverse set of technical skills needed to support the mission, develop talent for continued career growth, foster an inclusive work environment, manage personnel performance, and reward performance. Division includes a team of 15 managers and over 150 represented and non-represented employees with a large variety of disciplines.
  • Reinforce safety culture principles by execution of the MFC management model.
  • Build multidisciplinary teams with shared goals, accountability, and ownership for the INL/MFC mission at all levels in the organization.
  • Develop strategic external and internal communication plans and effectively communicate expectations and objectives to management and staff, DOE, INL Science & Technology (S&T) Program managers, Subject Matter Experts, INL peers, and other collaborators.

QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or engineering field.
  • 15 plus years of experience working in maintenance, operations, or engineering in a nuclear environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a broad spectrum of subject areas.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment, with collaboration of all levels, fields, and diverse cultural backgrounds of the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and collaborate with a variety of internal and external collaborators.

  • Salary Grade 250 ($160,440 - $272,724)
