Labcorp Genetics has an opening for a Remote-Based Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) to join their team! The GC Assistant will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that require a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
The schedule for the position will be: Monday- Friday, 8:30am-5pm EST.
Please note: this is a 100% remote position and candidate can reside anywhere in the US. Candidate must be willing to work eastern time zone hours.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Genetic Counseling team to manage results to be reported to patients through an innovative approach to providing genetic testing results
- Responsible for obtaining and distributing results to genetic counselors and ensuring that all results are distributed daily for reporting to patients
- Contact clients to obtain pertinent demographic information
- Communicate with clients regarding patients who genetic counselors were unable to reach
- Responsible for performing administrative duties such as data entry, database/log maintenance, filing, and faxing of reports
Requirements:
- Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5-7 years' experience working in a laboratory or clinical genetics setting preferred
- 1+ years' experience in the healthcare industry such as a hospital or physician's office highly desired
- Familiarity with genetic concepts
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required
- Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively
- Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendations
