Senior Transportation Planner/Urban Designer

Radin Consulting, Inc. – Newark, NJ
Radin Consulting, Inc. (RCI) is looking for a Senior Transportation Planner/Urban Designer with LEED certification. RCI provides planning and engineering consulting services to the transportation market. Our offices are located across the street from Newark Penn Station.

Primary duties will include preparing planning studies/reports with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical adequacy with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); reviewing design plans for assessing environmental impacts; applying green design principles; and coordinating with clients, stakeholders, resource agencies, and environmental and technical staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in planning, urban design, engineering, environmental studies, transportation and/or related field
• 8+ years of project management and/or professional related experience in a transportation consulting environment
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of NEPA, and other environmental regulations
• Certified planner (AICP) and LEED certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare documents, reports, presentation, technical memoranda, and other work products with a focus on regulatory compliance and technical adequacy
• Review design plans for potential impacts and sustainable (green) applications
• Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
• Oversee all aspects of a project including client contact, budget control and invoicing, scheduling, and technical analysis

Skills and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a large multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent organization, schedule and budget management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Proficiency with GIS, Adobe, and/or CADD programs preferred
• Willingness to travel as projects require
