Truck / Diesel Mechanics Instructor - Part Time M-TH 5-10 PM – Wentzville Location

Truck/Diesel Mechanics Instructor – Responsibilities for the Diesel Instructor include instructional planning and teaching; assisting in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment; assisting in maintaining requirements of NATEF standards; working with Diesel program advisory committee to maintain and enhance Diesel curriculum and assessing Diesel program outcomes; and participating in available training to keep current in Diesel Technology.

Instruct and evaluate students in a live work setting who are performing general services and repairs on Heavy Duty Diesel Trucks, to include instruction in shop safety. Teaching duties include Fundamentals of Diesel Engines; Suspension & Steering; Brakes; Electrical/Electronic Systems; Preventive Maintenance Inspection; Drive Train; Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning; Hydraulics.

This is a part-time position, working Monday - Thursday, 5 - 10 pm, with the class running from 6:05 - 9:55 pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Five years of full-time employment as a Diesel/Heavy equipment mechanic.

· Appropriate degree and/or equivalent experience.

· Teaching experience preferred but will train.

· Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Computer literate in MS Office.
