Job description
We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time position for the 2023-2024 school year. The SLPA will be required to work at various sites within the district, serving students ranging from Pre-K through Post-Secondary. The ideal candidate should have a passion for helping children and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting evaluations and assessments to diagnose speech and language disorders in students
- Implement individualized treatment plans to help students improve their communication skills under the direction of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Provide direct therapy services to students with communication disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support student success in the classroom
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communicate progress to parents and teachers
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid California SLPA license
- Experience working with children in a school setting preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
