This position will be located at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO. Essential Functions*:
- Analyze survey reports, long range-plans, maps, and other data to design new projects.
- Consider budget, regulations, and environmental hazards during the risk-analysis stage.
- Review and evaluate all prints and plan for structural, ethical, and sustainability concerns.
- Provide technical support for all infrastructure systems, such as foundations, floor construction, roofing systems, exterior wall construction, roadways, parking lots, fencing, and site earthwork.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, and structural engineers as needed to ensure budget and timeline adherence.
- Participate in planning and design activities through Integrated Product Team(IPT).
- Support Plant maintenance Staff for current operations and Plant Improvement.
- Identify system deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor and optimize safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance.
Position Requirements*:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering; master’s degree in civil engineering a plus.
- 3-5 years of recent relavant work experience preferred.
- Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing facility preferred.
- Experience in heavy industrial plants and/or DoD locations preferred.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design.
- Familiarity with DoD requirements – UFCs, Army Regs, DoD Safety Manuals, etc. preferred.
- Working knowledge of Codes, Standards, Specifications for new building design and construction.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication (oral and written), and time management skills.
- Individual must be creative, self-motivated, and an independent thinker.
- Ammunition and firearm experience are desired.
- Candidate must possess prior design experience with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Some travel is required.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies.
