POSITION OVERVIEW*
The First Baptist Church of Glenarden is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Facilities Department as a full-time transportation coordinator. You will be responsible for assisting in the administration and coordination of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles, maintaining accurate records of vehicles, ensuring compliance with government rules and regulations, and filing paperwork in support of this compliance as needed. Additionally, the incumbent will schedule repairs or preventative maintenance, ensuring that the necessary numbers of fleet vehicles are always available. Prior knowledge of MVA policies and procedures is preferred. This position is a full-time exempt position that will require availability to support weekend and evening activities at times. This position reports to the Transportation Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Assist with FBCG fleet vehicle maintenance and serve as an executive driver
  • Perform vehicle readiness inspections via fleet software to make sure tires, fluids, and other basic maintenance items are to standard.
  • Upload vehicle expenses, services records, and other vehicle information into fleet systems.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by performing interior/exterior cleaning duties in compliance with company standards.
  • Shuttle fleet vehicles to various shops safely and in accordance with all city/state road regulations.
  • Pick up inventory supplies, oil, wipers, fluids, etc., as directed.
  • Fuel vehicles as directed by supervisor.
  • Check fleet software systems daily for tasks and vehicle status updates and respond as directed.
  • Serve as executive driver for inbound/outbound guest, ministers, and church staff as needed.
  • Complete other projects and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Must be saved, have a servant’s heart, and be a member in good standing or willing to join and become a member in good standing of FBCG.
  • Must be able to submit to authorities as defined by the Pastor.
  • Must possess a gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations.
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation for the ministry and the mission of FBCG.
  • Ability to communicate with others and maintain a Christ-like spirit at all times.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, honor the chain of command, church leadership, members, and guests.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED). Vocational/technical training in automotive repair preferred.
  • One year of college or mechanic certification training preferred.
  • One year of general experience and two years of specialized experience working with vehicles.
  • One year of automotive experience in a dealership or independent shop preferred.
  • Light to medium automotive repair experience is a plus but not required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet the requirements of the church’s insurance in order to be able to operate an FBCG vehicle.
  • A valid CDL driver’s license is desired (or the ability to obtain the designation).
  • Must have basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Ability and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions with moderate noise level.
  • Possess knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be extremely flexible in an environment that is subject to many “spur of the moment” changes.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and possess excellent time management skills.
  • Must possess excellent follow-up and follow-through skills with an eye for detail.
  • Safety minded, self-motivated and able to work with no supervision.
  • Qualify to operate a company vehicle based on a motor vehicle record check and company policy.
  • Safely operate church vehicles and equipment, honoring applicable laws and safety standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $43,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
