Job description
JOB SUMMARY: The Service Technician is responsible for maintenance and correction of battery systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform battery service and maintenance at the Hazel Park, Michigan facility and customer sites (as needed)
- Technical advisement and support of customers and external partners
- Intake and tracking of returned battery systems throughout the repair-validate-return process
- Support of customer issues
- Preparation and execution of customer product training
- Assistance in the development of technical product documentation
- Support of the Sales Organization pertaining to questions involving service
- Support of development and testing activities
- Performance of other related duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or other two-year technical degree with a focus on electrical or mechatronics engineering or a skilled worker with the demonstrated ability to be further trained as a technician
- Three to five years of experience in an electrical/electronics-related field (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of automotive/electrical hardware, as well as a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand new technology
- Experience working with high-voltage technology and battery systems (preferred)
- Experience in automotive CAN-Bus communications (preferred)
- Ability to create/modify/troubleshoot wiring harnesses (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Willingness to perform interdisciplinary tasks
- Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills, a root-cause analysis mindset, and the ability to think analytically
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work with little to no supervision
- Integrity
- Initiative
- The ability to travel as needed (25-50%)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
