Sales Consultant – Single Family, Schlage Lock
The Sales Consultant - Single Family (SFSC) role represents and supports all Allegion brands within the territory. Responsible for developing strategic partnerships with new and existing distributors. Creates and manages relationships with decision makers and influencers including owners, residential builders, general contractors, and distribution within assigned territory. RAM must resolve issues with accounts, including shipping errors, pricing errors, back -orders, defective products, promotions, and other CRM (Dynamics) requirements. The SFSC is required to maintain personal networks, join organizations, and attend industry shows and events to promote the brand. Territory is Central Texas – Austin/San Antonio and candidate must live within the territory.
What You Will Do:
  • Develop distribution strategy within territory geography to maximize availability of residential brands to end-users including both “direct dealer” and “wholesaler” distribution strategies
  • Develop territory and customized business plan(s) for all key customers to include the following: dealer targets, builder targets, promotional activity, shelf management programs, product training, investment strategies, and revenue goals
  • Manage customers’ outside/inside sales personnel in selling and quoting Allegion products to end users
  • Utilize existing marketing programs to maximize market-share growth
  • Participate in cross selling strategies, with focus on partnering with Allegion sales office to maximize market-share growth
  • Ensure selling strategies align with meeting region and territory revenue and profit goals outlined in AOP
  • Develop and maintains list of current and prospective customers
  • Represent product portfolio at national, regional, and local dealer and association shows
  • Responsible for meeting budget and expense parameters for optimizing operating profit
  • Network with all end-users and influencers including remodelers, specifiers, architects, and installers
  • Network with key influencers, including dealer and wholesaler outside sales force, and single and multifamily builders with goal of developing long-term loyalty to selling the initiatives and brands of the business
  • Implement successful distribution strategies - manages and grows brand portfolio with all direct and indirect accounts within assigned geographical area
  • Partner with other team members to reach revenue goals for the Region
  • Conduct job site surveys to gain specification and competitive information
  • Seek out and converts cross-selling opportunities
  • Office responsibilities including on-time report submittals to upper management; timely credit submittal; detailed project analysis (financial and strategic); timely and tactful email communication with internal and external managers and customers; management and maintenance of all builder program agreements
  • Utilize the CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) tool for major project follow-up and customer contact management
  • Provide forecasting data to Inventory Management Team
What You Need to Succeed:
  • 3+ years of sales experience, industry experience preferred
  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with CRM tools
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Single family builder channel industry experience is preferred
  • Preference given to candidates living in Austin/San Antonio, Texas.
