About the Role:

Under the supervision of the production supervisor, the production lead is responsible for all the employees working in the packing positions of the production line. Specifically, the production lead is responsible for ensuring the proper packaging of products, ordering ample supplies, and managing their team members.
Other additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Check roster to confirm that staffing requirements are met
• Manage team members’ performance
• Train new employees
• Assign employees to appropriate positions
• Ensure that employees are following good manufacturing practices
• Assist those positions which need help in the production process
• Ensure area meets sanitary specifications
• Maintain a safe working environment
• Ensure that packagers have adequate materials for packaging
• Confirm that packaging meet specifications
• Acquire proper equipment for equipment machine operation

Tools used: Computer, Two-way radio, Label machine, conveyor belt, palletizer, and box assembler.

The performance of a production lead is rated on the completion of orders with proper specifications.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand on feet for long durations.
• Occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
• Be able to walk long distances
• Flexibility to work varying hours and required overtime

Important Details:

This is a full-time permanent role on day shift. The shifts are 8-hour long, working Monday-Friday and weekends as required. Any hours worked after 40 during a week, will be paid with overtime differential.

The production lead spends a majority of their day interacting with their team to ensure quality products are packaged properly. The workday is spent in a factory which ranges in temperature from 70-100 degrees with up to 25 people under their supervision.
