The overall purpose of this position is the responsibility for all physical receiving for Fresh Flowers, including offloading, breakdown, labeling and check-in. Accountable for safety and cleanliness in the material handling and receiving areas.

Essential Functions:

The hours for this position are Saturday and Sunday, 7:00am 3:30pm. Additional days/hours or adjustment to daily start time may change due to holiday or additional workload.

Receiving and Put Away

• Receiving of Fresh Flowers.
• Product must be counted and logged in correctly.
• All products must be put into proper warehouse.
• Be sure that all product is put away in an organized manner in the proper bin in rotation.

Receiving Trouble Shooting

• Work with other Receivers to research discrepancies.

Picking and Sorting

• Make sure that correct product is picked.
• Make sure all Grower Direct is broken down and scanned for the proper required date.

Safety and Housekeeping

• Maintain coolers and receiving dock work areas in a clean and organized manner for safe and effective operation.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a warehouse and cooler environment (34 degrees). The employee will utilize warehouse equipment such as Pallet Jacks, RF scanners, box cutters, and pallet-wrapping equipment.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and read. This position is very active and requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift/and or move items up to 50 pounds. The employee will also wear and use a scanning device on their wrist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a part-time, non-exempt position. The hours for this position are Saturday and Sunday , 7:00am 3:30pm. Additional days/hours or adjustment to daily start time may change due to holiday or additional workload.

Required Education and Experience:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, which requires managing within deadlines.
• Must be mature, meticulous, self-driven, and able to work well independently.
• Ability to use Pallet Jacks, RF Scanners, and any other warehouse-related equipment.
• Prior knowledge/experience working with or handling fresh flowers (or other perishables).
• Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change in a positive manner.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

To be eligible for employment, the candidate must pass all pre-employment screenings.
