The Specialty Distribution Customer Account Associate will be responsible for maintaining the overall success of the hospital and health system customer accounts we partner with, to include ensure that health system needs are met and Frontier Therapies delivers upon product sourcing, procurement, account management and logistics expectations. This role will be under direct supervision from the Supervisor of Procurement & Inventory Warehouse Operations at an Optum Frontier Therapy located in Las Vegas, NV.
Frontier Therapies partners with pharma/biotech manufacturers, health care providers, health systems, and payers to champion a better model of care for patients to help patients realize the promise of clinical outcomes unlocked by advanced therapeutics. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple distribution customers(covered entities / health care providers) within the Optum Frontier Therapies portfolio. The Customer Account Associate will be responsible providing day to day distribution account support.
This role will work closely with Frontier Therapies leadership to support overall portfolio distribution operations, including the evolution of onsite and virtual distribution operations processes and service models as our team grows. This position will provide direct support to accounts including account creation, order management, and resolving account questions and concerns. As a new Optum business, we are building on our strengths but also challenging the status quo. We are creating a business that is designed to specifically serve the unique needs of rare disease patient populations and support the emerging therapies, which require enhanced services and new capabilities over traditional specialty distributors. This position is full-time Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 6:00am - 5:30pm PST. Flexibility to work on site, telecommute, with potential to be full work at home once fully trained and meeting performance expectations. Primary Responsibilities:
Set up new customer accounts in all relevant technology systems.
Develop and maintain relationship with customers (health care providers and health systems).
Manage routine account customer service needs.
Accept inbound calls and handle requests with professional phone etiquette.
Manage issue escalation process and ensures prompt follow-up with customers to resolve escalated requests.
Place direct, drop ship, and remote enhanced delivery orders.
Assist customers with system navigation (how to order product, view reports, etc.).
Process credit research and document retrieval requests.
Process customer and trading partner returns.
Maintain understanding of pharmaceuticals /supplies, sources, supplier performance, potential lead times or shipping disruptions that could impact specialty distribution or customer services.
- May oversee purchasing to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing inventory.
Provide product knowledge/expertise to support resolution of backorder situations and optimal substitute product and vendor source.
- Communicate to customers drug shortage information and when available, alternative products.
- Accountable for placement and oversight of orders, including rush requisitions.
- Review all order confirmations, communicates any fulfillment issues to requisition, identifies and resolves pricing inconsistencies.
- Receive customer orders, verify invoices, distribute order, and approve payment.
Support customers’ needs for unique product procurement.
- Support pharmaceutical wholesaler relationship management and supplier performance management.
- Review and analyze purchasing and account data.
- Train backup buyer and other staff on pharmaceutical wholesaler ordering systems.
- Contact supplier for documentation of order receipt, track-down internal routing discrepancies, or determine if loss should be taken and item reordered.
- Provide support and management for pharmaceutical and supplies costs, prices, billing and revenue.
- Address pricing and billing discrepancies when requested.
- Reconcile credit to returns, pricing errors, product set-up problems and take corrective action.
- Review and analyze pharmaceutical and supplies purchasing and expense data reports.
- Summarize and escalate key issues with purchasing and expense data.
- Respond to requests for pharmaceutical and supplies purchasing and expense data for specific departments.
- Over time, develop and maintain cross-training in all inventory and warehouse duties including but not limited to executing daily, weekly, and monthly inventory tasks to include inventory receiving and put away, cycle counts, outdates and recalls
Adhere to policies and procedures.
- Pick, pack & ship customer orders.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
2+ years Specialty distribution customer service role experience
1+ years Drug level purchasing experience
Ability to work on site, telecommute, with potential to be full work at home once fully trained and meeting performance expectation
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of inventory management experience
1+ years of working in a warehouse or supply chain inventory environment
Previous work history managing high value sensitive pharmaceuticals
Licensed technician in home state
Telecommuting Requirements:
Reside within commutable distance to Las Vegas, NV
Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
