Carrier Fire & Security, the world’s largest manufacturer of fire safety products, is seeking a SIOP & Data Analyst for its Kidde Fire Systems business in Ashland, MA! Kidde Fire Systems provides fire suppression solutions that protect people and property from the effects of fire. For over 100 years, industry leaders and the military have relied on Kidde Fire Systems to deliver outstanding fire detection and suppression for their mission-critical applications.
This position reports directly to the SIOP Manager, collaborating with the full spectrum of KFS leaders, including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
  • Compile actual sales and forecast data to drive changes to business decisions to support sales and customers.
  • Participate in monthly meetings to gather consensus on the future direction of the business in various major product groups. Document meeting discussions and publish minutes. Follow-up with appropriate changes to forecast and key operational levers. Create review packages for the teams to review.
  • Pilot new metrics for SIOP. Drive SIOP metrics monthly with senior leadership.
  • Work with the supply planners coordinate product transitions, including introductions (from a planning/forecasting standpoint from initial product reviews through pre-production and total production) and phase-outs. Monitor programs for schedule disruptions and notify management when required.
  • Drive Inventory reduction goals as defined by the SIOP process to maximize inventory turns while improving customer service levels. Partner with cross-functional teams in lean manufacturing, inventory reduction, work cell inventory turn improvements, SKU reduction, excess and obsolete avoidance and minimization, safety stock and Kanban sizing, and part usage analysis for proper business sizing in conjunction with Kaizen activities.
  • Collect, examine, and analyze statistical data using software models and data-mining techniques to forecast product/market trends, evaluate and measure various performance parameters such as delivery, lead-time, etc., and self-monitor forecast accuracy.
  • Drive IT development of JDE Forecast Improvements based on Kaizen activities.
  • Development and ownership of data aggregation and collection for major site reporting responsibilities.
  • Lead data analytics under the guidance of the Director of Operations, in support of corporate leadership
  • Coordinate with site functional leadership on critical needs and serve as initial triage for data requests
Required Experience:
  • BA/BS or equivalent in a business-related field with 3 to 5 years of experience. Must have excellent analytical, organization, and communications organizational skills. Prior experience with SIOP or sales forecasting is required.
  • Experience as a manufacturing engineer in a medium volume manufacturing environment with a large variety of products
  • Excellent data analysis skills, ideally including background knowledge of statistical forecasting software with a desire to understand the data to drive solutions.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of PC applications, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Access database knowledge also a plus)
  • Experience in an ERP environment, preferably using J.D. Edwards or PeopleSoft systems.
  • Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) is desirable.
  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and influence, advise, and direct members outside the straightforward reporting structure to perform job requirements and meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills and an open attitude for continuous improvement.
