Job description

The Senior Business Analyst position is responsible for the support needs of the Legal and People & Culture teams based on their requests. This will extend to supporting other areas of the practice management as well as supporting affiliates as needed. This includes but is not limited to: Business Analyst activities such as leading discovery and compiling all requisite artifacts and possibly leading a project.

Responsibilities:

  • Document “business problem” to be solved and complete current state analysis and lead requirements gathering exercise through discovery sessions
  • Contribute to project plan creation and assist in identifying phase gates
  • Assist in development of documentation and training materials as well as business user training and IT/Technology training; Update, implement and maintain business process documentation
  • Provide advice and guidance for end user support; Identify areas for Automation of manual processes and data analytics reporting
  • Conduct meetings and deliver presentations; gather critical information to produce useful reports
  • Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management, including recommendations (that use analytics to support them)
  • Understand and communicate the financial, risk and operational impact of any changes
  • Monitor deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Business Analyst processes including: elicitation, documentation (creation/updating), compiling/completing/maintaining project artifacts, Understanding and completing the RFI/RFP process
  • Negotiate with vendors for better pricing/terms
  • Provide Tier 3 support of designed solutions; Participation in cross training other team members where the functional lead is an SME
  • Partner with teams to create micro learning videos for user/employee consumption. This includes defining the steps and providing the scripts to create the content.
  • Serve as backup to other team members to backfill during peak periods, PTO, etc.
  • Partner with manager on fiscal year discovery with TBD tasks/initiatives within the PMT department
  • Act as the SME for the applications and process in the primary functional areas
  • Support Legal team on Projects, Zylab, Agiloft and other applications in the Legal technology stack and enhancement elicitation and documenting specifications for developers
  • People & Culture functional support areas include: HRIS, payroll, performance management, learning and development, resource management

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer or business-related field (Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business analysis; IIBA Certification and/or PMP Certification a plus
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, including Visio; Proficient in Process Flow Analysis and Diagrams
  • Familiar with Agile and Waterfall software development lifecycle methodologies; Familiar with Project Management and Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including ability to discuss technical topics with non-technical audiences
  • Detail oriented, planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work both autonomously and actively as part of a cross-functional team
  • Proven ability to create innovative solutions to solve complex business requirements, and streamline/automate business processes
  • Experience working with Legal and/or People & Culture (HR) as it relates to industry expertise, processes, and operations is a plus
  • Knowledge and expertise in Legal and People & Culture applications is a plus especially using Agiloft, Zylab, UKG Pro solution is a big plus
  • Ability to travel possibly up to 10% to Firm office locations as needed
