Job Summary

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for preparing items for shipment. Duties include receiving fresh fish or freight, unpacking, verifying, grading, cleaning product, repacking, loading and shipping items.

Responsibilities

• Move freight, fish, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand, pallet jack or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
• Stack cargo in locations such as loading docks as directed, using pallets.
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Position receptacles, such as bins, carts, or containers so they can be loaded.
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

• Good organization skills – prioritize work assignments and manage work time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs or more repeatedly throughout the day
• Ability to work MANDATORY Tuesday and Saturdays.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year work-related knowledge, skills or experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of equipment (forklifts and pallet jacks), policies and procedures to promote effective safety and security of people and facilities.
• Ability to lift and move products in a safe and timely manner.
• Ability to exert physical force to lift or carry objects.
• Ability to understand oral or written instructions to carryout and accomplish work assignments.
• Working knowledge of the English language.

Work environment: work in very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures; indoor work environment; moderate noise level.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
