WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Target Salary Range ($64,480-$80,000)
Levena Biopharma, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sorrento Therapeutics (NASDAQ: SRNE), is a leading expert in antibody drug conjugate (ADC) technology, utilizing our own proprietary site-specific conjugation methodology and an extensive catalog of linker-toxin compounds. As a CDMO service provider, we have established cGMP manufacturing facilities to accelerate the complete ADC drug development process: from linker-toxin production to conjugation, characterization, and final processing.
Currently, we have several exciting programs in development at our San Diego, CA location that are aimed toward addressing unmet challenges in oncology and other disease areas. A Research Associate position is available immediately in the Analytical Development Group.
The successful candidate will help to develop, verify, and transfer analytical methods for ADCs and other biotherapeutic candidates progressing from the discovery through clinical phases. A particular emphasis is placed on the mastery and application of bioanalytical techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, ELISA, CE-SDS, and iCIEF toward both innovative new conjugation projects as well as lot release and stability testing for advanced pre-clinical lead ADC candidates. Familiarity with method qualification, QA/QC processes, and GLP/cGMP specifications is a plus. Under the supervision of a Project Leader, the candidate will be expected to help design, implement, troubleshoot, and manage both novel bioassay platforms in addition to established techniques for PK and serum/plasma stability studies.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who can manage, organize, and interpret data on different projects. They must possess strong oral and written communication skills while working efficiently to satisfy strict timelines and deliverables. As Levena is a team-oriented, multi-disciplinary environment, the successful candidate will be expected to regularly engage with the Synthetic Chemistry, Biology, Bioconjugation, and CMC groups.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Developing and applying chromatographic methods (HPLC) toward characterization of ADCs and other bioconjugates, especially RP-HPLC, HIC-HPLC, and SEC-HPLC.
- Performance of laboratory work in a safe and compliant manner at all times.
- A legible, accurate, and detailed record of all relevant data in both an electronic laboratory notebook and in the creation, revision, and review of SOPs and IND documents.
- Communication of results and findings through presentations, formal technical reports, and literature reviews.
- Development, verification, and tech transfer of analytical methods used for lot release and stability testing of GLP/GMP samples.
- A versatile technical mastery of other standard analytical and bioanalytical techniques, including, but not limited to, ELISA, CE-SDS/SDS-PAGE, and iCIEF.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are a must
- Operate specialized laboratory equipment and computers as appropriate to the individual laboratory (including instrument maintenance and calibration).
- Good analytical skills.
- Good inter-personal skills and communication skills (both written and oral).
- Proficient at writing and oral presentations.
- Proficient in the use of standard desktop computer software programs.
- Effective project and time management skills.
- Good team player.
