The R&D Assistant serves as an integral part R&D responsible for assisting in new product and existing dietary supplement formulations. Assist in developing Supplement/Nutritional Facts panel from concept to label orders. Maintain and organize R&D laboratory and documentation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for Assisting in New Product formulation and Existing Product formulation
- Create or revise Supplement/Nutrition Facts Panels
- Creation of label ID#’s, coordinate with printer for new and revised labels and the documentation required for new & re-ordered labels.
- Organize raw material R&D samples & request samples when needed
- Must always wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as stipulated by SOPs, (respiratory, ear plugs, hair net, beard cover, lab coat, etc.).
- Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
- Assures compliance with Food and Drug Administration's Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department.
- Maintains order of the laboratory including supplies and equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of cGMP regulatory requirements
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Responsible for working directly with the R&D Manager to provide any required support, including helping other departments as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: AA or higher with science related studies (Pharmacy, Nutrition, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry etc.)
Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in dietary supplement manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations and ability to perform calculations using excel.
- Demonstrated familiarity and proficiency with ingredients used in Nutraceutical products desired but not required
- Demonstrated ability to work within a cross functional team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail
- Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, SOP, and Batch Records
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of PC software, MS Office, Word, Excel, Adobe, Power point.
- College mathematical skills required
- English Language Proficiency Required, Spanish proficiency is desired but not required.
- Work Flexible hours as required by Management
- Posture of humility and learning
- Work independently as well as in team environments, in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be punctual and have good attendance
Certification or License: cGMP training desired but not required
