Restoration Housing, a Roanoke-based nonprofit developing affordable housing through the rehabilitation of vacant, historic structures, is seeking a part-time Property Service Technician to assist with the maintenance and repair of our seven rental properties. This is a great opportunity for a skilled candidate looking for supplemental income and to support their community.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform weekly inspections at each of our managed properties to monitor the status of each rental unit and any maintenance and/or repair needs
• Coordinate repairs with third-party contractors, such as plumbers, pest control, HVAC, etc. as necessary
• Perform on-site maintenance including but not limited to replacing air filters, installing mice and ant traps, paint touch ups, installing weather-stripping, minor carpentry, plumbing, and general handy work
• Attend Restoration Housing weekly staff meeting to communicate the status of each property and any special needs or concerns
• Monitor the landscaping and sites of each property to ensure that there is no trash or debris
• Work with tenants, code enforcement, and/or the City’s Waste Removal office to make sure that the yards of each property remain properly maintained and in code compliance
• Coordinate access with tenants for repairs
• Communicate with tenants during business hours regarding maintenance services

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction and/or property maintenance
• Strong communication and time management skills

This is a part-time hourly nonexempt position, estimated to require approximately 10 hours a week.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
