Summary: Responsible for deploying and supporting Network Solutions delivered by Werner Electric Supply. Hardware solutions include those from Cisco, Dell, Rockwell Automation and other associated network vendors. The desired candidate will work within the assigned geographical territory to enhance the effectiveness of Werner Electric Sales, system integrators, end-users, machine builders and vendor partners to accurately specify and quote network related hardware, software and services.

Minimum & Preferred Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in related field or equivalent level of experience.
• Willingness to earn a CCNA and other relevant certifications.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface directly with customers at all levels of an organization.
• Valid WI state Driver’s License.
• Strong experience with Cisco operating systems, cloud computing, virtual environments, physical infrastructure, and telephony equipment. Working knowledge of network switching and routing (including IP addressing schemes), VLAN’s and subnet design.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow-up promptly and professionally with internal and external customers in-person, over-the-phone, and via e-mail (Outlook)
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with internal and external customers
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers and uphold Werner’s mission and values
• Assess network systems and infrastructure (Switching, Routing, IP Schemes, VLAN, and Subnet Designs) for a diverse customer portfolio by visiting customer sites and gathering information from customers directly
• Leverage Werner’s Vender product lines for operating system, cloud, infrastructure, and telephony solutions
• Provide hardware and service recommendations for Werner’s customers
• Design networks using the principles outlined in the Cisco/Rockwell/Panduit Converged Plantwide Ethernet guide
• Configure, deploy and troubleshoot plant floor network topologies as required.
• Exhibit a working knowledge of network security best practices and work diligently to protect our customer’s intellectual property.
• Support and service customers though our managed service platform.
• Train customers in the proper use and deployment of industrial networking equipment.
• Assist in project management with documentation and drawings including the use of a database to track customers and staff inquiries and issues.
• Advise Product Managers and vendor partners regarding product issues that are discovered through deployments or technical support calls with customers.
• Assist customers with issues that arise from application or misapplication of the product.
• Complete, maintain, and process pertinent paperwork and records.
• Create and update training materials on a regular basis.
• Other duties as assigned.
