BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Technician's to join our outstanding and compassionate team at the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater!
BayCare Behavioral Health at Morton Plant Hospital is an inpatient psychiatric unit that offers 24-hour nursing care for adults dealing with behavioral disorders and addictions. Our experienced team is comprised of psychiatrists, social workers, registered nurses, case managers and mental health technicians. BayCare Behavioral Health at Morton Plant Hospital is a Baker Act-receiving facility.
Current roles available:
- Mental Health Technician Prime Pool
- Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and well-being.
- Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Assists with physical care under the direction of a RN.
- Promotes coordination of the unit by completing orders, making phone calls, and directing calls and information to the charge nurse.
- Organizational, computer, training & clinical skills

Qualifications:
Required Certifications and Licensures:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
- Patient Care Technician - preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Mental Health Technician Prime Pool
- 6 months Psychology - preferred
- Or 6 months Medical Technician - preferred
- Or 6 months Paramedics - preferred
Specific Skills:
- Organizational & Computer skills appropriate to the position
- Exceptional teamwork
