Maintenance Tech (facility or mechanic)

An international food company is seeking a qualified Maintenance Tech (facility or mechanic) who has tech certificate background and couple years of experience.

Location: Somerset, New Jersey

Direct Hire/ Non-Exempt

Title: Maintenance Tech

Shift Schedule: 5 days out of Monday to Sunday (one weekend and 4 weekdays)

SHIFT HOURS:

1st: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

2nd: 3:00pm - 12:00 am

During 3 months’ probation period, the hour will be 8:00am-5:00pm

Salary: $20-30/hr

Job Description

• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations
• Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnosing, inspecting for production machinery
• Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and Hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner
• Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery
• Improve equipment condition and efficiency
• Fix buildings and maintain properties to ensure that they are in good conditions
• Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician such as painting and snow removal
• Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities
• Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
• Work effectively with other team members in a loud environment

Job Requirements

• High school diploma
• Preferred study in mechanical, electrical or engineering specialties
• Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move, and handle equipment

Required Skills

• Electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical schematics reading
• Replacements for motor, belt, bearing, pully, sprockets, chain, cylinder etc.
• Plumbing, wiring, welding, and drilling
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of mechanical repair and safety measures
• Microsoft application (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)
• Excellent communication skills, logical thinking skill, and strong attention to detail
• Able to lift 40 lbs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
