This position starts at $12.75 - $16.00/hour, depending on experience and availability. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FAST FOOD Team Leader (1st step in management)
As a Fast Food Team Leader, you are the face of Jack in the Box in the community. Whether leading your team or working at the drive-thru window or front counter, you always acknowledge and welcome guests immediately, as well as communicate clearly and keep them updated about their order.
You take care of your employees and ensure that they have the right tools to do their job. You will handle food safety logs, cash-out drawers and lead your team during your shift.
Your knowledge about our menu and products helps you answer questions quickly and accurately. From the initial welcome to the final thank-you, your exceptional customer service is a big part of keeping people coming back. You treat both guests and team members with care and respect.
You also help prepare hot, delicious food with a side of AWESOME, ensuring the levels are good and within temperature standards. When not serving guests or preparing food, you help keep the restaurant clean and inviting-both inside and out. You take pride in your work and professional conduct yourself at all times. You are flexible, efficient at problem-solving, and work with a sense of urgency. Your calm demeanor and positive attitude affect everyone around you as you strive to make each day better than the last. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME FAST FOOD Team Leader:
- Workstation Operation
- Supervises and trains team members on workstation operations..
- Ensures all activities are in compliance with JIB procedures, systems, standards, and food safety, security, and cash handling requirements.
- Guest Service
- Ensures guests receive an exceptional experience by performing quality employee training and holding restaurant team accountable for consistently delivering excellent guest service and food quality.
- Maintains visibility and interaction with guests; responds to guest concerns and complaints in a positive and professional manner; ensures positive resolution.
- Leadership
- Creates a restaurant environment that is friendly, fun, clean, and safe; treats all employees with care and respect; motivates and inspires employees to achieve high performance.
- Conducts on-boarding and training.
- Provides feedback and recognizes employees.
- Ensures employee personal and uniform cleanliness.
- Apprises management of potential employee issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience – 6 consecutive months JIB experience and 100% certified in all workstations for internal promotes, or 1 year supervisory experience in a restaurant or retail customer service environment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must be at least 18 years old; must complete Team Leader training classes; and in certain states, must be ServSafe certified. Requires ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English and Spanish; and may require ability to speak another language to guests based on location of restaurant. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to perform and understand basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); ability to work well with diverse groups of people; proven analytical skills; and good organization and planning skills. Is a self-starter who takes initiative and willingly accepts responsibility. Basic knowledge of personal computers and related software applications. Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior.
Physical Requirements -
- Ability to stand and walk approximately 90%-95% of shift and move freely throughout the restaurant; ability to lift and carry 15-25 lbs. Ability to listen to guests’ orders, operate a cash register, and read video monitors.
