ST. THOMAS MORE SCHOOL seeks a dynamic teacher for Middle School Geography and American History

teacher, for the 2023-2024 school year. The teacher will help fulfill the mission of the Catholic Church by

planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning process of the students within the framework of the school’s

philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The teacher will provide an appropriate learning climate and

activities to promote a love of learning; communicate well and build positive relationships. The teacher will

collaborate with teammates and participate in a Professional Learning Community.

Responsibilities:

• Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Actively participate in a faith community, modeling the teachings of Jesus.
• Prepare and implement effective lessons to teach the Diocesan Learning Standards.
• Demonstrate knowledge of best teaching practices and strategies.
• Promote positive relationships and effective communication with administration, faculty, staff, students and

school families.

• Use a variety of methods to assess and monitor students’ progress.
• Maintain an appropriate learning environment and set high standards and expectations within the classroom.
• Demonstrate professional responsibility and maintain confidentiality, sound judgment, and appropriate dress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited university or college.
• A valid teaching certificate.
• Ability to utilize technology for instruction and learning.
• Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an asset.
