Position Title: Storeroom Attendant

Department: Supply

Location: Beardstown

Salary Class: Non Exempt

Title of Supervisor: Storeroom Supervisor

Purpose & Scope: Maintain and track inventory of operating supplies & the sharpening of knives for employees as needed daily using knife grinder.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Issue, receive, and inventory operating supplies

• Unload trucks and stock items as they arrive

• Travel to vendor locations to pick up necessary materials

• Perform various other duties as needed or as assigned by the Supervisor

• Communicate with Buyers on inventory levels and shortages

• Cycle count inventory to ensure accuracy

• Cleaning and organizing work areas

• Maintain locations for added stock, deleted stock, and increased stock

• Any other duties as assigned

• Sharpen straight knives, draw knives, and wizard knives for employee daily as needed using knife grinder

• Clean, maintain, and fix wizard knives with the correct parts along with maintaining the cables

• Maintain employee records in computer data base

• Post issues daily in computer

Working Conditions: Work 40 hours per week. Overtime will be required. May be required to change shifts for coverage.

Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience: Previous inventory and/or mechanical experience beneficial

Special Skills:

• Computer skills, mechanical ability

• Customer service oriented.

• Basic math skills

• Self-motivated – work well without direct supervision

• Bilingual is a is beneficial

• SAP Knowledge

• Strong customer service abilities required

Relationships

Internal: Regular communication within all levels of the plant regarding issuance of materials from the warehouse

External: Minimal communication with external agents
