Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Data Engineer/Data Engineer.

This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in either San Diego, Redondo Beach, El Segundo, or Palmdale, CA.

The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Product Support Organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work in a variety of settings to build systems that collect, manage, and convert raw data into usable information for data scientists and business analysts to interpret.

• Their goal is to make data accessible so that organizations can use it to evaluate and optimize their performance.

• Designs, builds and oversees the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions and software to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.

• Establishes and builds processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs, route appropriately and store using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, local databases, and other applicable storage forms as required.

• Design, develop, and maintain a scalable ETL pipeline

• Data preparation/cleaning, integration, and automation from heterogeneous sources.

• Ensure data integrity and system availability.

• Identify, evaluate, and recommend core technologies and strategies.

• Monitor and optimize system performance.

• Decomposition of user requirements into logical functions/components.

This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Data Engineer (T01) or Data Engineer (T02).

Basic Qualifications for an Associate Data Engineer (T01)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

• Experience working in ETL Techniques and Frameworks.

• Experience utilizing Python, SQL, or similar.

• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Clearance and Program Access Required for Start as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications for a Data Engineer (T02)

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

• Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Electrical engineering experience

• Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)

• Experience working in ETL Techniques and Frameworks.

• Experience utilizing Python, SQL, or similar.

• Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate Data Engineer and Data Engineer

• Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher

• Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).

• Experience with integration of data from multiple sources

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

• Experience in Agile Software Development

• Active DoD in-scope security secret level clearance

Pay Range

• Associate Data Engineer: 70,200.00 - 105,400.00

• Data Engineer: 85,000.00 – 127,400.00

Salary Range: $70,200 USD - $105,400 USD

Salary Range 2: $85,000 USD - $127,400 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
